Haripriya Gundimeda

Haripriya the Joint Local and Regional Policymakers and Administrators Coordinator for the TEEB study. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Policy and works in various issues relating to environment and development economics. She is currently working as an Associate Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, India.

Before joining her current organization, Haripriya taught at the Madras School of Economics in Chennai. She was also a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Behaviour Sciences, at the University of Colorado, Boulder, as well as a Ratan Tata Fellow at the Asia Research Centre, at the London School of Economics, and a Political Sciences and Visiting Researcher at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Her main areas of research have been green accounting, mitigation aspects of climate change, energy demand and pricing, valuation of environmental resources, and issues relating to the development in India. Haripriya is actively involved with the Green Indian States Trust (GIST) in India and has been the lead author of six of the eight monographs for the GIST.

Kaavya Varma

Kaavya works with TEEB on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD), as well as on developing the scientific and economic foundations for the TEEB study. Kaavya is also a Senior Associate with the Green India States Trust (GIST). She has experience developing REDD methodologies and measurement indicators to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of forest conservation and incorporate REDD at the local level in countries like India and Ghana. In addition, Kaavya has also worked with urban poverty alleviation and slum improvement and development through a Gates Foundation and Development Innovations group project in Washington, D.C.

Kaavya holds an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge in Environment, Society and Development and a B.Sc. from the London School of Economics in Environmental Policy.

Sanjib Kumar Jha

Sanjib is an Associate with GIST Advisory and has been instrumental in researching, compiling and coordinating several case studies for TEEB D2 report TEEB for Local and Regional Policy Makers.

Prior to this , he has worked on various research projects in textiles and civil aviation. He brings with him the knowledge of effective qualitative and quantitative modeling analysis. His areas of interest include green accounting. valuation of environmental resources and enviornmental economics. Sanjib holds a Masters degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
